Dumbledore pride t-shirts...

After the recent revelation that J.K. Rowling always though of Dumbledore as a homosexual, some T-shirts have come out in support of Dumbledore's sexual preference.

Will straight people wear these shirts?

Bacon and Chocolate?

Everyone's favorite directory of wonderful things posted an article on a bacon candy bar.

I love bacon.
But I do NOT like chocolate (actually, dark chocolate isn't too bad).

But, even if I did, would this really taste good? Just look at the box. It looks gross.

The whole description is a fallacy, there is no way that "a bite of the bacon was too salty and yearned for the sweet kiss of chocolate syrup".

Honestly, it looks like a piece bacon on top of a log of excrement (which Americans should eat more of).

Bacon and chocolate go together like peanut butter and ladies...

Technology that can read your mind...

I want to highlight three articles that deal with the brain (all from Boing Boing):

1) Brain-computer interface for Second Life -
This article talks about a device that moves a Second Life avatar just by thinking about what you want to do. Attach the technology to your head and start your imagination.
Is this what video games will become? Thinking about shooting your enemy in Halo 3 will make it happen? It then changes from who has the fastest hand-eye coordination to who can think the fastest.

Microsoft wants to monitor brain waves to see how effective user interfaces are...

3) Mind gyms for cognitive fitness -
SharpBrains.com has a fitness regime for the mind to improve memory or concentration. The article mentions it would be good for corporations, children, sports teams, and old people.
Instead of going to the website, go buy a Ninento DS and play Ultimate Brain Games.

Boing Boing calls this the worst costume ever, but they are wrong.
Poopie Shorts! Just read the description:

Maybe I could use this costume for more than one year.....

Harvard lawyers have denounced the Harvard bookstore's pratices of throwing students out and calling the cops on them.

Harvard Bookstore ridiculousness continues...

In a previous post, I highlighted how the Harvard bookstore was kicking students out for writing down textbooks ISBNs in the store.
Apparently, they have taken it one step further. Now, they are calling the cops on students instead. Seriously?

According to the article, the two officers let the students continue to copy down ISBNs for two and a half hours before the students left on the own. The Cambridge Police Department said it removed three of four males, but that hasn't been confirmed by any of the students collecting data.

Where are the Harvard Law School students to bring the bookstore back to earth?

Harvard bookstore throwing out students...

...for taking too many notes. They don't want them to learn?
The article (from Boing Boing) highlights how students are taking copious notes about the prices of books at the campus bookstore. Apparently, the nerds up at Harvard like to take notes before they even own the book....
But, seriously, if they write down the book info, such as the ISDN, they are being booted from the store because the Barnes and Noble run bookstore says the prices are its "intellectual property". I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone that it seems like a totally invalid claim.

Maybe if they lowered their prices, they wouldn't have students writing down the book information and then buying it online for cheaper, either new or used. College bookstores are a notorious rip off. I think I bought one book my second semester sophomore year and paid someone a few bucks to borrow some of the other ones.
